Dr. John Conroy
Before becoming an orthodontist, Dr. John Conroy attended the University of Notre Dame where he completed his pre-dental education in 1983. In 1987, he graduated from the University of Connecticut School Of Dental Medicine with his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry. Dr. Conroy then accomplished a General Practice Residency in the US Air Force Dental Corps at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.
He completed his orthodontic education while still in the Air Force at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry where he earned his Master’s Degree in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
As an expert in all forms of orthodontia in combination with his passion for excellence, Dr. Conroy has developed "Conroy Smile Confidence Technology," a unique integration of diagnostic and clinical skills that leverage the most cutting-edge technologies in contemporary orthodontics. Our practice blends cutting-edge research and tools with traditional, tried-and-tested orthodontic techniques to provide patients with world-class care every time. Dr. Conroy is committed to developing innovative orthodontic solutions to meet each patient’s unique needs, and we have extensive experience with a range of treatment options, including 3D-printed brackets from LightForce Orthodontics, as well as remote monitoring from Dental Monitoring.
When Dr. Conroy is not at the practice helping his patients take care of their smiles, he enjoys spending time with his amazing wife, Jennifer, and their two daughters, Bernadette and Victoria. He loves taking care of his bees, snow skiing, saltwater ﬁshing, hiking and cheering for Notre Dame, UConn and USF football. Dr. Conroy is also a lector for Our Lady of Mercy Parish and is a part of the CT Mission of Mercy.
Dr. Matt Vumback
Dr. Vumback is a Connecticut native and is originally from the town of North Branford. After high school he attended Providence College in Rhode Island where he followed his scientific interests by achieving a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then received a Master of Science degree in Oral Health Sciences from Boston University. Following his Master’s degree, Dr. Vumback was accepted to the B.U. Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine where he was elected President of his class and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
After dental school, Dr. Vumback pursued his dream of becoming an orthodontist. He completed an orthodontic residency program through the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. There he received comprehensive training in twin and self-ligating bracket systems along with clear aligner therapy. Extensive emphasis in Dr. Vumback’s training was placed on interdisciplinary care with general dentists and specialists in a variety of dental and medical fields. During residency Dr. Vumback spent extensive time on rotation with the prestigious Johns Hopkins Cleft Lip and Palate Center.

Dr. Conroy values serving his local communities. From being on the board of the Corpus Christi School in Wethersfield to his involvement with the Middlesex County Dental Society Scholarship committee, he is passionate about giving back to his communities.
Dr. Conroy is also a proud member of the CT State Dental Association, American Dental Association, CT State Society of Orthodontist, Northeast State Society of Orthodontists, and the American Association of Orthodontists.
Also, with the help of our patients, we have organized donations, raised money for charity during breast cancer awareness month and put together care packages for veterans during the holiday season.
